Johns Hopkins Home Care Group is seeking a PICC Nurse to join our team. This position is located in Washington DC. The nurse delivers safe, therapeutic patient care through use of the nursing process and provides complete and holistic patient assessments including focused assessments involving IV access, patient specific nursing treatments, and education for both the patient and family. S/he assesses the patient's need for placement of a vascular access device and determines the appropriate type of device to place, location to place the device, and safety of line placement. S/he acts as an expert in vascular access line placement to include peripheral lines, midline catheters, and peripherally inserted central catheters in the home setting, clinic setting, or as otherwise needed. Under the direction of the nurse manager, s/he assists with trouble shooting vascular access issues and provides expert guidance to team members with the management of these devices. The nurse employs the concepts of evidence-based practice and an interdisciplinary approach in all aspects of a patient's plan of care and complies with all Johns Hopkins Home Care Group policies and procedures and maintains practice within the Maryland Nurse Practice Act. S/he reports directly to the Infusion Nurse Manager.

Requirements: 

  • BSN preferred.
  • Current and unrestricted RN licensure in the state of MD and in Washington DC.
  • Current BLS certification / CPR card.
  • Minimum of two years hospital experience as a practicing nurse. ICU or specialty unit preferred.
  • Infusion nursing experience preferred but not required.
  • Mid-line and PICC placement experience preferred.
