Inova Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) STICU - Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Supervisor for a nursing job in Paeonian Springs, Virginia.

We are seeking a full time RN Unit Supervisor for our Surgical Trauma ICU at Inova Loudoun Hospital. The ideal individual will be an experienced ICU Registered Nurse with prior charge or supervisor experience. Inova Loudoun Hospital is a growing 211-bed nationally recognized acute-care community hospital with a rich history of proudly serving our growing and diverse community since 1912. We provide compassionate and comprehensive care for the entire family.
This is a night shift position 7:00pm – 7:00am – 3 x 12-hour shifts/week.
Our Surgical Trauma ICU unit is a 12-bed unit on the second floor with close proximity to the OR. We care for critically ill surgical and trauma patients, including neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery patients, along with post-procedural patients. We also care for Intermediate Care level surgical and trauma patients as well.
Patient to Nurse Ratio: 2:1 (ICU patients) and 3:1 (IMC patients) in the STICU.
The RN Unit Supervisor serves as a front-line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit.
- Embraces, uses, and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools.
- Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes.
- Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility.
- Provides genuine acts of care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring and encouragement to all members of the healthcare team, to further enculturate Inova's care delivery model and results for all of Inova's strategic priorities.

Requirements:
- Experience required: At least one year of Registered Nurse Clinical experience; Prefer 2+ years of ICU Registered Nurse Experience.
- Prefer Charge RN or RN Supervisory experience (please include this on your resume).
- Education required: BSN or MSN preferred; open to Associate Degree RNs but must be within one year of completing their BSN.
- Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days of employment.
- Certifications: BLS (AHA) required, ACLS within 90-days, Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year from date of hire.
- RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention.
- Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations.
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit
